What are our Safe(r) Space gatherings?
Safe(r) Space gatherings are monthly gatherings providing a space for racialised queer people to come together, find each other, and to be and embrace ourselves.
Our Safe(r) Spaces seek to build and grow our community closer, and provide our community with safety, support, strength, care, and love.
The type of gathering changes every month! Our past gatherings have included a cosy dinner together, a vogueing workshop, a movie night, a discussion evening, and more.
Who can join our Safe(r) Space gatherings?
The gatherings are organised by and for racialised queer people. We do this to foster a space where racialised queer people can find solidarity in each other and in our united struggle in a society that does not and will not fully see, acknowledge, understand, and include us.
At our gatherings, we can be proudly be ourselves, without feeling compelled to mask or conform to society’s expectations. A space of trust, love, and free expression.
