POCQUnity: (free) services for LGBTQIA+ people of color

Specialized services for and by LGBTQIA+ people of color in the Utrecht region

Since January 2020, Colored Qollective, a new foundation for and by LGBTQIA+ people and displaced individuals of color, has entered into a new collaboration with the Municipality of Utrecht under the project called 'POCQUnity.' This service-oriented project aims to provide a safe, anonymous, and accessible environment for LGBTQIA+ visitors and displaced individuals of color. Additionally, these visitors are guided and supported in finding the right resources and pathways.

With a perspective on intersectionality, experienced and knowledgeable service providers are available to engage in conversations about various core concepts relevant to the community. Some examples include gender diversity, dysphoria, mental health, as well as social-cultural conflicts and discrimination based on race/ethnicity and/or sexuality.

"This is another step in the right direction, promoting the emancipation of marginalized groups in the Utrecht region," says the chairperson of Colored Qollective.

If you need a safe and anonymous conversation with our service provider, you can quickly and free of charge reach out to her. Contact us via:

Who is Selina?

"My name is Selina Boye (she/her), and I work as a psychosocial service provider at Colored Qollective. I am a transcultural systemic therapist, politicized psychologist, and philosopher. After years of working within the Dutch MHIC (Mental Health Industrial Complex), I am now running an independent practice.

For QT BIPOC, individual healing alone is not enough—we need systemic and structural change. In my work at POCQunity, I aim to support and empower our community in navigating the Dutch healthcare system, and finding the most appropriate care. Additionally, I offer a low-threshold therapeutic space where individuals can access compassionate, listening support when needed."
