Intersectional boat Utrecht Canal Pride 2019
On Saturday 1 June 2019 Colored Qollective i.s.m. Respect2love Utrecht sailed along during the Canal Pride Utrecht. It was the first boat of color in the history of the Utrecht Pride with more than 75 LGBTQIA+ participants. During the sailing we made several (political) statements and placed icons, such as Marsha P. Johnson and Gloria Wekker in the foreground. Pride is allowed to be more inclusive and diverse as far as we are concerned, so that more attention is paid to the most vulnerable groups within the LGBTQIA+ community.
