(Inter)national conference Colored Qollective
Attention! The deadline to sign up for this conference is the 18th of January 2021 23:59!
The non-profit Colored Qollective is organising an international digital conference focused on queer people of color on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd of January from 19:00-21:00.
The primary goal of this conference is to offer a platform and stage to the group with which we will talk about decolonization within queer communities of color. Sadly QBIPOC are often under-represented and we get no or little access to platforms, means, and facilities that are designed for us.
With this conference we don’t just offer the needed space to QBIPOC, but we will also be able to have difficult conversations about decolonization and dismantling power structures. All of this will be approached from an intersectional perspective.
Who can attend?
This conference can be attended by anyone who has interest and affinity with this topic. It is a given that (the experiences of) QBIPOC are centred. Other than that we invite activists, non-profits, healthcare workers, policy makers, and researchers to take part at this conference and we also explicitly call on students and employees of Utrecht University to sign up.
This conference is organised by the non-profit Colored Qollective. We are a grass-roots collective that was founded in 2018 with the goal of offering a safe(r) space to LGBTQIA+ people of color. The members of Colored Qollective are all active from the perspective of experiental expertise to be able to guarantee the safety of the group as much as possible.
